Man succumbs after shooting on South Street

On Monday, July 23, 2012, at approximately 11:19pm, a shooting occurred in the 400 block of South Street that resulted in the death of an adult male.
When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered lying on the sidewalk a man who had been struck by gunfire in the upper body. He was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
According to the Long Beach Police Department, it is unknown if the incident is gang-related. At this point in the investigation, the victim has not been identified.
