Richardson honors LB contracting firm at Small Business Day ceremony

Assemblymember Laura Richardson (D-Long Beach) recognized WestLand Construction Inc. and Co-founder David Neary at yesterday’s California Small Business Day ceremony in Sacramento.

WestLand Construction, Inc. exemplifies true business leadership and has demonstrated a clear commitment to our community. I especially commend David Neary for his tireless efforts and dedicated service to making a difference in the lives of the residents of the 55th District.”
Neary is also president of WestLand Construction Inc., which was established in 1990 as a contracting firm specializing in commercial interiors. He has led WestLand Construction Inc. to effectively complete more than 900 projects amounting to more than 4.2 million square feet of construction. He is not just an accomplished entrepreneur; he has also demonstrated a commitment to public service.
Neary currently serves on the advisory board of the Salvation Army in Long Beach, board of directors for Children Today, the city of Long Beach Work Force Development Board, the Long Beach Memorial Medical Center’s Friends of the Hospital Leadership Committee, the Long Beach City College Foundation’s Board of Governors, and is president of the Long Beach Chamber of Commerce, Political Action Committee.
The California Small Business Day ceremony is an annual event held by the California Small Business Association to recognize the special achievements of small businesses in each of the 80 Assembly districts.
