The Grainger Foundation, an Illinois-based independent, private foundation, has donated $5,000 to the Long Beach Camerata Singers, a non-profit classical-music choral group, to sponsor the 2013 Long Beach Bach Festival.
The donation will help the Long Beach Camerata Singers present a series of concerts in February and March 2013. The events include chamber-music concerts, a student-recital afternoon and a major choral concert, including performances by a local children’s choir.
“We are grateful to The Grainger Foundation for its generosity,” said Sharon Tanabe, chair of the organization’s board of directors in a prepared statement.
The donation was recommended by Ligaya Pinga, branch manager of W.W. Grainger, Inc.’s Long Beach location. Grainger has been a part of the Long Beach business community for more than 30 years as the leading broad-line supplier of maintenance, repair and operating products. Grainger was established in 1949 by William W. Grainger.
