Paul Colacchio named managing director at Long Beach Playhouse

Paul Colacchio has been selected as the new managing director of the Long Beach Playhouse. A Long Beach resident, Colacchio has been actively involved with the Playhouse for many years as a stage manager, prop master, producer and most recently as the acting managing director after the departure of Martie Ramm, who was hired in December but had to resign after one week for personal reasons.
Colacchio has extensive experience in the areas of finance, communications and special events management, having worked in these fields previously for companies such as Walt Disney Feature Animation, Walt Disney Consumer Products, Passion Films, Inc. and the Breast Cancer Care and Research Fund.
He will be in charge of business and administrative functions and will oversee daily operations at the Playhouse.
Established in 1929, the Playhouse is one of the oldest continuously operating theatres on the west coast. Performances are held 50 weeks out of the year and the Playhouse brings in over 30,000 yearly patrons with 326 performances annually. In addition to producing 16 plays each year in its Mainstage and Studio Theatres, the Playhouse produces four staged readings of playwright’s new works, has ongoing workshops for youth and adults, active internship programs in its scene and costume shops and a professional full-time production staff.
