The First Fridays Art Walk in Bixby Knolls on Sept. 6 will celebrate a theme of “All That Jazz.” Activities will include: live and interactive art, local jazz performers Majic Bullet Theory at the Bixby Knolls Business Improvement (BKBIA) office, classic cars, classic rock, politicos, break dancers, goats, chickens, a s’mores station, the Knolls Ranger mascot, free books, gift items and antiques.
The event will also include a jazz showcase at the platforms of 3939 Atlantic Ave., and the Expo Arts Center will feature an exhibit by Arts & Services for the Disabled.
At sunset, Nino’s Italian Restaurant and Digital Installers will host a big-screen projection of a special, themed movie.
Seventh District Councilmember James Johnson’s “First Books at First Fridays” will feature guest reader and author Aaron L. Day starting at 5:30pm.
Eighth District Councilmember Al Austin’s “Council on Your Corner” will be set up at Atlantic Avenue and Burlinghall Drive to meet and greet attendees
Attendees may dine on “Art-Lantic” Avenue at one of the local restaurants then grab the Big Red Bus to travel from venue to venue via designated stops at the participating businesses.
Bella Cosa, 3803 Atlantic Ave., will have all the information about First Fridays, maps, business info and restaurant recommendations from 6:30pm to 8pm.
