MoLAA hosting music series with renowned artists

The Museum of Latin American Art (MoLAA), in collaboration with Yambu Productions, a Los Angeles-based music production company, will present a summer-music series in its sculpture garden, 628 Alamitos Ave., showcasing Afro-Cuban music and live performances featuring contemporary artists on Saturday, Aug. 29.
The Cubana Be, Cubana Bop, The Return of Bebop: The Music of Dizzy Gillespie and Chano Pozo concert is sponsored, in part, by Don Nacho Tequila and Telemundo.
The concert will also feature the Cal State University Los Angeles Afro Latin Ensemble under the music direction of Paul De Castro and guest artists, such as reed player Justo Almario, trumpet player Harry Kim, percussionist Calixto Oviedo and two-time Grammy Award-winning percussionist Joey De Leon.
Doors will open at 6:30pm, and the concert will begin at 8pm. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.
Tickets for VIP seating are $50, regular seats are $40 and the standing room is available for $30. MoLAA members receive a 10-percent discount. Ticket prices at the door will be higher than indicated.
