The Signal Hill Police Department (SHPD) is seeking the public’s help in providing information about a recent assault and robbery.
On Sunday, March 12, at approximately 7:20am, a man driving northbound on Orange Avenue from Willow Street saw two men standing next to cardboard boxes on northbound Orange Avenue, directly in front of him. The driver pulled over and exited his car to help the men move the boxes. As he approached them, the two suspects assaulted him and stole his wallet, police said.
The suspects fled in a late-1990s burgundy, four-door Nissan Sentra with “Mossy” paper plates on the front and rear bumper of the Nissan. The plates were black with yellow writing.
The first suspect is a male Hispanic in his mid-20s, approximately 6’0″ , 275 pounds, wearing a red and white Washington Nationals baseball cap, a red long-sleeve shirt and blue jeans.
The second suspect is a male Hispanic in his mid-20s, approximately 5’9″ , 200 pounds, with short black hair.
