Most Long Beach offices closed in observance of MLK holiday

The City of Long Beach’s offices and services will adhere to the following schedule on Monday, Jan. 15. City Hall will reopen Tuesday, Jan. 16.

Street sweeping
There will be no scheduled street sweeping or enforcement of street-sweeping violations on Monday, Jan. 15. Street sweeping will resume its regular schedule on Tuesday, January 16.

Parking enforcement
Drivers should read parking meters, which will be enforced on Monday, Jan. 15 unless the meter states “Exempt on Holidays.” The days and hours of enforcement are displayed inside the meters.

Trash and Recycling will be collected as scheduled on Monday, January 15.

Towing and lien sales
The Towing Operations & Vehicle Storage Facility at 3111 E. Willow St. will be closed on Monday, Jan. 15.

All Long Beach public libraries will be closed Saturday, Jan. 13 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Bay Shore, Burnett, El Dorado and Michelle Obama neighborhood libraries will be open on Sunday, Jan. 14. All libraries are closed on Mondays, per their normal schedule, and will reopen on Tuesday, Jan. 16. (The library catalog, downloads and databases are available 24/7.)

The City’s annual holiday “Treecycling” tree-recycling program gives residents a chance to dispose of trees free of charge while keeping the trees out of the trash after the holidays. Through Jan. 12, residents can drop off trees at several locations throughout the City, as shown on Residents with City refuse service can leave their trees out where trash is normally collected by 7am on Saturday, Jan. 13. All trees must have decorations and stands removed, and trees over 12 feet tall should be cut in half.
