Seventieth District Assemblymember Patrick O’Donnell (D—Long Beach) kicked off Teacher-Appreciation Month with his fourth annual Teacher Recognition Ceremony on May 3, at Keesal Young & Logan law firm in Long Beach.
Family, friends, and colleagues gathered to celebrate 15 teachers from the 70th Assembly District who go above and beyond for their students and community. Assemblymember O’Donnell presented each with an “Extraordinary Teacher Award.”
“It is important that we take the time to appreciate and honor those who share the gift of knowledge through teaching,” O’Donnell said. “As a teacher and chair of the Assembly Education Committee, I am proud to be surrounded by so many remarkable teachers who are dedicated to our students inside and outside of the classroom. Thank you for the outstanding work that you do every day.”
The 2018 Teacher Recognition Ceremony honorees included: Gabriella Añorve, Torrie Jean Baker, Brandie Borges, Eric Cabacunga, Tony Damico, Jacquelyn Gainer, Alina Heavin, Andrea Hoover, Juliane McCall, Monica Patterson, Pamela Penn, Ethel Seminario-Laczko, Lyle Theile, Darith Ung and Laurie Wilkerson.
