With smoldering embers and the smell of smoke still in the air, Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD) on Wednesday investigated and tended to the aftermath of the previous night’s two-alarm fire in Signal Hill.
Captain Craig Davis of LACoFD Station #60 in Signal Hill said arson investigators are looking into the cause of the fire at Tristar Insurance Group, 2835 Temple Avenue, and stated that the matter is “still under investigation.”
According to Captain Dave Garcia, also of Station #60, the call reporting the blaze came in at 10:02pm. He reported that more than 75 firefighters from surrounding cities and several engine companies were on hand at the scene.
Once the roof caved in, the firefighters pulled out of the building to let the fire burn itself out from the inside.
The priority was then to save the surrounding buildings, which was accomplished since no other structures were damaged. There were no firefighter or civilian injuries reported.
Anyone with information about this fire is requested to call LACoFD Arson Investigation Unit at (626) 433-1011.
