A 21-year-old man was shot and killed in north Long Beach on Monday, according to the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD).
At approximately 10:45pm that day, officers were dispatched to a “shots fired” call in the 3200 block of Andy Street. When they arrived, they located a male adult who had been struck in the upper torso by gunfire. Officers began performing life-saving measures at the scene. Subsequently, the Long Beach Fire Department responded and determined the victim deceased.
He has been identified as Jioni Kyles of Long Beach.
The motive for the shooting is unknown and the investigation is ongoing.
At press time, no witnesses had come forward with information, and detectives are encouraging anyone with any details to contact them.
