The coroner’s office identified a 36-year-old man who was killed along with a 45-year-old woman in a shooting in the unincorporated Westmont area of Los Angeles County near South Los Angeles.

Detectives responded about 9:10 p.m. Thursday to a gunshot victim call in the 1600 block of West 105th Street, near Denker Avenue, where they located the victims, according to Deputy Erin Liu of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The man identified as Arlee Atkins, 36, of Long Beach — was wounded in the upper body and pronounced dead at the scene. The woman, Lillie Morrison, 45, of Las Vegas was wounded multiple times in the upper body and died at a hospital, Liu said.

There have been no reports of any arrests in the case and suspect information was not immediately available.

Anyone with information about the shooting was asked to call the sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500.
