Bikes, beer, bands and a Big Red Bus to characterize next First Fridays

The Bixby Knolls First Fridays art walk on April 1 will see the return of “Beer & Politics,” featuring Long Beach City Manager Pat West on the panel discussing “all things bikes,” at Nino’s Italian Restaurant, 3853 Atlantic Ave., beginning at 6:30pm. Special beers and dinner items will be available.  
The Art Exchange will debut at First Fridays with an interactive “Make a Mandala” activity in the North Room of The Expo, 4321 Atlantic Ave. The entire family is encouraged to attend and get creative.
Everyone is invited to attend the one-year wedding anniversary and vow-renewal ceremony of Bixby Knolls locals Laura and Wade Ashley, at 7:30pm at Melinda McCoy’s Flowers, 611 E. Carson St. The Knolls Ranger will officiate the ceremony with the Sultans Car Club serving as the best men and bridesmaids.
Also included will be art in all mediums, the Millikan High School Jazz Band, Elvis, comedy, Gallery Expo, classic cars, Timstrument, tarot cards, free books, speed light workshop, a photo booth, face painting, jazz, rockabilly, doo wop, Indian heritage & henna, Jones Gallery, performance painter Norton Wisdom and the Neon Hunter Collective, antiques, a piano man, and The Big Red Bus. 
Seventh District Councilmember James Johnson’s “First Books at First Fridays” at the Dana Branch Library, 3680 Atlantic Ave., will begin at 5:30pm. Special guest reader will be City Manager Pat West. A magician will also perform. 
The Long Beach Historical Society, 4260 Atlantic Ave., will host Cambodian arts, culture, dance and food.
Participants can stop by Bella Cosa, 3803Atlantic Ave., from 6:30pm to 8pm to find information about First Fridays, maps, business info, and restaurant recommendations.
When the businesses start to close, “First Fridays After Hours” will begin at Nino’s Italian Restaurant, 3853 Atlantic Ave., with music, an open-mic contest, and late-night dining and beverages. The Factory, 4020 Atlantic Ave., will also go late into the night with food, drinks, and reggae music.
The Big Red Bus will transport attendees venue to venue from designated stops at participating businesses.
