The Signal Tribune newspaper

Lissette Mendoza
Born and raised in Long Beach, Lissette grew up in the eastside of the LBC before settling in the westside with her parents and two dogs Zena and Zeppelin.

Thanks to her parents who are natives of Michoacan, Mexico, and Dora the Explorer, Lissette is bilingual, with the ability to read, write and speak in Spanish. She continues to use her skills to give a voice to underrepresented Latinos and assisting at the Signal Tribune by translating their coverage to Spanish.

She began her career in journalism at Long Beach City College's The Viking in 2017 before transferring to Cal State University Long Beach where she contributed to DIG Magazine and graduated with her B.A. in journalism in 2019.

On her free time catch her having a drink at her favorite spot, The Bamboo Club or at a ska show in Los Angeles.
